A few things to keep on the schedule for this month:
PICTURES Photos for the Willow Room are on the Tuesday, Oct.13th. If you would like to sign up for individual photos outside the classroom environment, learn more here
FALL BREAK Remember that there is no school Friday October 9 or Monday October 12! Here are some pumpkin patches if you need something to do this weekend!

CONFERENCES Parent sign-ups for upcoming conferences will be sent home this coming week. There will be two days to choose from and Alison will try to accommodate everyone as best she can.
OBSERVATION If you would like to observe your child in the classroom, you may schedule an appointment with Gail (843-757-2312) in the office. Observation continues well into the year, so you have plenty of time.

SCHOOL YARD SALE There will be a school-wide yard sale in November. What a great way to clean out your clutter and also teach your kid some real-life skills (pricing, making change, being responsible for your "shop", interacting with the public). And a fun way to get to know the other families at our school.
IN THE CLASSROOM Meanwhile, in the Willow Room, the class is studying the parts of plants and so far they have dissected a real leaf, a small tree, and flowers. Ask your children all about it.
GARDENING As you might have noticed, the flooding wiped out the entire side garden on the Bridge Street side of the building. Miss Amy (the gardening teacher) is busy making a new plan for the gardens. But in the meantime, your kids are repotting some uprooted plants, and are harvesting some rosemary to take home and dry (be sure to show them how to incorporate it into dinner! Kids love cooking what they grew!).
Thanks for responding to the self-evaluation forms. The children are really interested in this and want to sit down with their parents and tell all about what they are doing in class.
